Korkut Bostanci graduated in 1994 as a medical doctor at the Istanbul University Istanbul Medical Faculty.

After finishing his residency at the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Department of the same institute, he graduated as a thoracic surgeon in 2000. Currently, he is working as a Professor at the Thoracic Surgery Department of Marmara University School of Medicine.

His areas of interest are video assisted thoracoscopic surgery, chest wall surgery,  and bronchoscopic lung volume reduction.
